Whiteparish and Landford LINK scheme

This voluntary scheme operates in the surrounding villages, providing door to door return journeys for residents who are unable to make normal travel arrangements. The service is mostly used in connection with medical appointments but also allows people the freedom of social visits and shopping excursions when needed.  The Whiteparish and Landford Community Link Scheme is run by volunteer.

To use the service please telephone a few days in advance. During the journey you will be invited to make a voluntary donation towards vehicle expenses for the round trip from the driver’s home. This will amount to approximately 42p per mile.

To use the service please ring the duty co-ordinator 07450 492581

Volunteers

The scheme is made possible entirely by volunteers and new recruits are always welcome.

If you feel that you can spare the time there are two ways of helping:

Drivers

Drivers with their own vehicle receive requests from co-ordinators to provide transport for a client on a particular date and time.

You will not have to make a regular commitment and will only receive requests when it is convenient for you.

Telephone Coordinators

If you have a telephone at home and the time to spare you can help by acting as a coordinator, receiving calls from clients for assistance and locating available drivers.

Coordinators operate on a rotational basis, normally on call one week in six. When ‘on duty’ volunteers are expected to be contactable from 9am to 5pm either directly by telephone or by answerphone from Monday to Friday of that week

If you wish to volunteer, please telephone 07450 492581
