Link Scheme

Whiteparish and Landford LINK scheme
This voluntary scheme provides a friendly ‘good neighbour’ service for local people including transport for medical appointments (including dentists, opticians etc), shopping, social visits (including day centres, clubs and care homes).
We accept requests from the following areas: Whiteparish, Bramshaw, Fritham, Hamptworth, Landford, Nomansland, Sherfield English, Plaitford, West Dean, Alderbury, Whaddon and The Grimsteads.
As our volunteers are not trained in lifting people, anyone using our service needs to be able to get in and out of a car with minimal assistance. We cannot always guarantee to be able to transport wheelchairs and large walking frames.
To use our service call: 07450 492581
The duty co-ordinator will take your details and then try and find an available volunteer. The return phone call from the co-ordinator will confirm the request. You may leave a message if the co-ordinator is not available.
As the group is a small registered charity with no official funding, we do ask for a user donation to help cover our insurance, phone bills and driver expense.

Volunteers
The scheme is made possible entirely by volunteers and new recruits are always welcome.
If you feel that you can spare the time there are two ways of helping:
Drivers
Drivers with their own vehicle receive requests from co-ordinators to provide transport for a client on a particular date and time.
You will not have to make a regular commitment and will only receive requests when it is convenient for you.
Telephone Coordinators
If you have a telephone at home and the time to spare you can help by acting as a coordinator, receiving calls from clients for assistance and locating available drivers.
Coordinators operate on a rotational basis, normally on call one week in six. When ‘on duty’ volunteers are expected to be contactable from 9am to 5pm either directly by telephone or by answerphone from Monday to Friday of that week
If you wish to volunteer, please telephone 07450 492581
