INTRODUCTION TO THE PPG
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) was started in 2003 and aims to support the practice by:
Contributing to the content and design of patient education and literature
Helping with and/or organising extra services
Providing volunteers to help with specific practice activities
Providing an extra communication channel between practice staff and patients
Offering suggestions for practice improvements
All patients registered with the practice are eligible to be in the PPG, to help with PPG activities and to put themselves up for election to the committee.
Some activities so far:
Awareness evenings - including Alzheimer's Disease and Drugs and Alcohol
Presentations - such as a presentation by a senior dietician on Diet, Healthy Eating and Diabetes and an evening with the Head of H.S.B.C. Technical Department on Wills and Power of Attorney.
Training events - including basic life support and resuscitation
Coming soon - AGM and a talk (date to be advised)
